Town Government Academy to Kick-Off Spring Semester Tuesday, March 9
FISHERS, IN – The Town of Fishers has announced that its award-winning Town Government Academy (TGA) will start on Tuesday, March 9, 2010. Citizens interested in participating in the eight-week educational course that takes a hands-on look at town government can apply here.
TGA connects residents of Fishers to the inner workings of town government by allowing students to hear from staff, tour Town facilities, and engage in the collaborative town governing process. At the end of the course, students should have a greater understanding of how Fishers government works for its residents.
There are limited seats available so sign up soon!
To date, over 200 Fishers residents have graduated from TGA.
In 2007, the TGA was awarded a Community Achievement Award by the Indiana Association of Cities and Towns (IACT). Fishers represented the 40,000 and over population and received the award at IACT's Annual Conference and Exhibition in Evansville in October 2007.
