Fishers -- Teachers at Hamilton Southeastern have reached a partial agreement with the School Board on their contract, citing the district's financial woes for the early decision.

Teachers won't get pay raises for the 2010-11 school year. However, teachers will get their step raises, which are based on years of experience.

The one-year agreement serves to partly address the district's financial concerns, according to a release issued Monday. In the 2008-09 school year, the district was the state's sixth-largest with nearly 16,200 students.

The Indiana State Teachers Association, representing more than 50,000 public-school teachers and teaching professionals, didn't have information on whether other teachers unions have agreed to such salary limits as state funding has waned.
