Free outdoor skills
clinics at Fishers parks
Beginning Thursday March 13th at 6:30 pm at Roy G. Holland Park,
Camptown is putting on a series of clinics designed to encourage
families to grow closer together through outdoor experiences.
These clinics correspond with Camptown’s eight family trips to parks,
forests and waterways across the country in 2008. The trips and clinics
are for those with some to no experience in topics like backpacking,
hiking, canoeing and camping.
All clinics are at 6:30 PM at Roy G. Holland Park in Fishers:
3/13: Family Camping
3/27: Beginning Backpacking
4/10: Trip Planning
4/28: PEAK Leave No Trace for kids
Pre-registration by phone (471-8277) or email (info@camptown.net) is
strongly encouraged. Similar clinics are also being held at parks in
Noblesville, Lawrence, and Hendricks County.
Since 1991, Camptown has been leading youth to a better path by
providing physical, mental, and spiritual growth opportunities in
community with caring adults. Through the context of outdoor adventures,
Camptown challenges, mentors, and teaches youth about nature and life.
Camptown partners with youth organizations in Central Indiana to offer
these exciting and unique programs to their students to build life
skills, character and confidence. Programs range from a half-day to a
week long at various Parks and Forests across the United States.
