Fishers organizations win
HCCVB grants
Seven Hamilton County, Indiana non-profit organizations received
marketing and promotions grants from the Hamilton County Convention and
Visitors Bureau. The total amount awarded this funding period was
$21.833. Deadline for applications for the next funding period is August
15, 2008.
Grant money will be used for both new and established events, projects
and marketing plans that encourage tourism to Hamilton County. Local
programs funded must have the potential to develop into attractions that
draw overnight visitors to Hamilton County, eventually becoming part of
the overall Hamilton County product marketed by the Bureau as a visitor
destination.
2008 Marketing and Promotion Award Recipients:

Carmel Clay Historical Society was
awarded $1,837 for promotional efforts for “Carmel Clay Civil War
Roundtable.” Funding will be used to assist with print advertising and
flyers promoting the new event in June.

Conner Prairie received $1,763 for
listings in several Indiana publications including the state travel
guide, map and the VisitIndiana.com trip planner. Listings will
encourage visitors to visit during major festival weekends.

The Fishers Freedom received $5,000 for
advertising and promotions of the festival and National Dog Disc
competition held during the festival. Funds will be used for
advertising in Indiana, Kentucky and Tennessee as well as printing and
distribution of the festival guide in central Indiana.

The Museum of Miniature Houses was
awarded $1,770 for summer and fall advertising in national niche
magazines to increase awareness, attendance at the museum and donation
expenditures.

The Noblesville Cultural Arts
Commission, a first time recipient, received $5,000 for marketing
efforts for “Art Lovers Weekend.” Advertising will be placed in South
Bend, Bloomington, Kokomo and Indianapolis as well as a direct mail
campaign to out-of-county art enthusiasts.

Noblesville Main Street received $5,000
to continue promotion of “First Fridays.” Both radio and print
advertising are planned to promote the event.

The Noblesville Preservation Alliance
received $1,463 for out of county print advertising and postcards to
promote the3rd Annual Noblesville Tour of Gardens and 22nd Annual
Noblesville Tour of Homes.
Grant money is awarded to qualifying
organizations twice each year through the Marketing and Promotions Grant
Program. The program assists groups in developing and promoting tourism
projects in Hamilton County. Award-winning projects directly impact the
community by attracting visitors to the county.
The Hamilton County Convention and Visitors Bureau promotes tourism
growth through strategic marketing, hospitality and community
development initiatives.
