Fishers Clerk-Treasurer
receives award
For the 19th consecutive year, Fishers Clerk-Treasurer Linda Gaye
Cordell has received the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in
Financial Reporting (CAFR) award given by the Government Finance
Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for her
comprehensive annual financial report.
“Gaye consistently performs her duties with a level of excellence that
is astounding,” said Fishers Town Council President Scott Faultless. “To
receive the prestigious CAFR award for the nineteenth year in a row is
remarkable.”
The CAFR is the highest form of recognition in the area of government
accounting and financial reporting.
An impartial panel judges the reports to ensure reports meet the high
standards of the program including demonstrating a constructive “spirit
of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and
motivate potential users and user groups to read the CAFR.
The GFOA is a nonprofit professional association serving approximately
16,000 government finance professionals with offices in Chicago, IL, and
Washington, D.C.
