Fishers teams up to
attract biotech
The Fishers Economic and Community Development Commission (EDC)
announced the partnership with Mark Long of Long Performance Advisors to
focus on establishing the Fishers Research and Technology Campus. The
campus will be designed to meet the demanding needs of today’s new
high-tech companies with wet laboratories and highly flexible tenant
spaces suitable for research, development and production facilities.
“Mark’s experience and understanding of the State of Indiana’s life
science focus will be an asset to our efforts and to Fishers,” said
Christi Wolf President of the Fishers EDC. “With 25 years of diverse
experience in the biomedical/biotechnology industries and academia, he
truly understands the economic landscape and the needs of those who fuel
the life science industry.”
Mark Long brings a wealth of knowledge in operations, facility
management, real estate acquisition and admissions in the life
sciences/biotech incubator area. As former President of Indiana
University’s Emerging Technologies Center, Mark helped form and build
the center with 26 tenant companies, obtaining 90% occupancy within 2
years and graduating 7 incubator companies in 4 years. Long stated,
“Fishers has unlimited potential for the development of their Research
and Technology Campus. I am excited about the opportunity to work with
Fishers to enhance the Hoosier life sciences economy.”
“This is exactly the type of economic and job growth that fits our
community,” said Scott Faultless, Fishers Town Council President. “The
research campus will provide the area with high quality jobs that will
ultimately, help enhance and impact the lives of not only Fishers
residents, but Hoosiers everywhere.”
