Grant Money Available
for Tourism Projects
The Hamilton County Convention and Visitors Bureau is accepting grant
applications for its Marketing and Promotions Grant program.
Applications must be received by 5 p.m. on August 15.
The Bureau offers grant opportunities to qualified Hamilton County
non-profit organizations interested in developing and promoting tourism
in the county. The program offers 2:1 matching funds up to $5,000 for
successful applicants.
In 2008, $50,000 is available. The Marketing and Promotions Grant
program assists groups in developing and promoting tourism projects in
Hamilton County. Award- winning projects directly impact the community
by attracting visitors to the county.
“This program encourages organizations to think strategically about
their marketing and promotional efforts and to expand into markets
they’d previously been unable to reach,” explained Betsy Jones, tourism
and economic development director. “The HCCVB is pleased to be able to
assist our tourism partners in this way."
Applying organizations must be located in Hamilton County and have a
not-for-profit status with the Secretary of State’s Office. Projects
that promote or develop activities that appeal to out-of-area visitors
are preferred.
The Hamilton County Convention and Visitors Bureau promotes tourism
growth through strategic marketing and hospitality and community
development initiatives.
