Fishers recognized for
performance measures
The Town of Fishers will be recognized for its use of performance
measurement information in management at the International City/County
Management Association (ICMA) conference in Richmond, Virginia next
month.
“Integrating performance data into management enables us to effectively
standardize town-wide performance and benchmark with other
municipalities from across the nation,” said Gary A. Huff, Fishers Town
Manager. “Performance measurement is one of the critical management
tools necessary to achieve our goal of being a high performance
municipality.”
Fishers will receive the ICMA Center for Performance Management
Certificate of Distinction, the organization’s highest award, for its
commitment to using performance data in strategic planning and
management decision-making.
The town collects performance data in the following areas:
Code Enforcement
Facilities Management
Fire/EMS
Highways/Road Maintenance
Human Resources
Information Technology
Parks & Recreation
Police
Purchasing
Risk Management
Fishers incorporates performance data into management by utilizing data
during budgeting and the performance appraisal process, disseminating
data for analysis and review, and performing data verification efforts
to ensure reliability. The town is developing a cross-comparison of each
department’s measurement indicators for increased analysis and
integration of performance data.
